“About a week or so ago I noticed Carpenter Ants climbing a pillar out front. I called H & H and informed them about the situation and they informed me that they would "send the best guy". He came out and was clearly aware of the situation. He went back to his H&H truck to get a ladder. He brought back a stepping stool. Keep in mind that the Ants were about 9-10 feet up. The man that they sent was around 60 yrs old, 110 lbs, about 5ft 5in tall and with his stepping stool (at 6ft 2in) I was still taller than he was. So very quickly he realized that his stepping stool was not going to do the job. So I had to go outback and find him a ladder that he could use. After we finally got the ladder out front, he climbed up, sprayed bug spray (what I would imagine was very similar to the can of raid that we had out and could have used) in the crevices around the top of the pillar. It took probably 5-10 minutes total. It took far longer getting out our ladder or having to put it back after he finished. While I will say that the man was very courgal and respectfull, I think $150 for what was done seems a bit high. Perhaps I expected him to do more and maybe $150 to spray some bugs spray is the going rate but I can't imagine 10 minutes of labor and some bug spray costing $150.”

“If you want to be made to feel like an idiot for trusting a company, this is the one for you. Paid them to do a water proofing job due in to an old broken trench drain system that was not draining properly and allowing water to flood our garage. Paul came out and assessed the situation and was very confident that all we needed was a new system installed. Because “the old one probably used to work.” I began to have issues upon the day of the install For one, Paul stated that they would be buying and installing the drains in 10 foot sections. However, day of bringing them, he said he couldn’t find 10 footers and 5 footers would still be straight. Upon completion, they are not straight. It’s a hack job. (See included photo) When I shrugged that off and went to clean the drains out two week later. I found that they covers could not be removed without considerable force and use of a pry bar. When I called Paul to inform him. He came over, used a flat head screwdriver and said “that’s just what you have to do.” Which is completely inaccurate. For drains that are done correctly, the covers can be removed easily by hand. He wouldn’t speak on it anymore with me and left… Now the ultimate kicker for our experience. We had finally received rain and with that rain, it brought a flood into the garage. I took pictures and called to report it. Paul was out of office and Allen (president of the company/branch) came over to take a look. Upon inspecting everything, he stated “we probably should’ve put a bigger drain in.” Which I asked, why didn’t y’all? He told me that he would have to consult with Paul and get back to me. Paul showed up on my doorstep the following Monday. He told me that the problem is “volume” and pointed at our roof and where the downspout comes out. Because the volume of water coming down the driveway and off our roof is too much for the trench drain to handle. When I asked why that wasn’t calculated, he said “well, it was, but we can’t always know how much rain we’re getting.” So, I asked about how they would fix the problem. He then stated options, that all were at our cost. Even though, they did nothing to even fix our situation. We were still getting just as much water with their new drain, as we were with the old broken drain. He then quoted their warranty which is apparently in accordance to the national weather service… Paul attempted to explain that it’s a matter of inches per hour, but couldn’t provide an answer to how many is normal. He said “they don’t know, we can’t say” Which is layman’s terms means the warranty is rigged for as a safeguard for them not to repair shoddy work. It was only after leaving some reviews that Paul reached back out to provide a solution. One being a 4” corrugated pipe installed to divert the roof water away from the trench drain. (Garage still flood by the way) When I got a rain gauge and did my research (also have a brother in law who does water diversion for whole neighborhoods) I found that the rain we were getting was normal for our area and in accordance with the national weather service. I provided that information to Paul who had never seen it before in his life (doesn’t have any business working for waterproofing) He then switched his stance from the “inordinate amount of rainfall” to “when did I promise that we would fix the problem?” “Did I tell you that this would work?” That’s when I realized they weren’t going to accept responsibility and I told him not to call until they had a solution. It’s been 5 months and I still haven’t heard anything.”
